We have been working for Douglas since 1999. From the very beginning, we have supported the development and establishment of e-commerce as part of the corporate and sales strategy. We have also implemented various cross-channel projects.
The variety of services reflects almost the entire spectrum of e-commerce, including major projects such as store relaunches, as well as ongoing support with promotions, competitions, site optimizations, ad creatives and newsletter marketing. In addition, we have built up and managed performance marketing with an exclusive team over many years.
Douglas received multiple awards for the best online store and also as the best omnichannel retailer. And a pilot branch was crowned with the "Best Customer Experience Award for Innovative Retail Technologies", for which d-SIRE developed various digital applications.

Beautiful Commerce
Douglas was one of the first major German retailers to recognize the potential of digital sales back in the early 00s. Very early on, pure brand showcases became a fully-fledged online store, and we played a key role in its development.
Throughout the entire process of digitization, from Web 2.0 to social media and mobile-dominated commerce, we have accompanied the developments over the years strategically, conceptually, design-wise and in front-end development.
Major Shop Relaunch
The last major relaunch of the online store took place in 2017 during the brand's upscaling phase. This is where the foundations were laid for today's store and its subsequent iterations. A pattern library based on the principle of atomic design was used to create a flexible and consistent visual system. The responsiveness of the user interface for different device types was also implemented during this relaunch.
A renewed Self-Confidence
The new look was also reflected in the communication and dialog with the target groups. During a period of testing, numerous innovations were tried out and integrated into the store experience. The close integration social networks and the cooperation with beauty influencers are particularly noteworthy here.
Visual Merchanidising for Douglas Stores
For selected stores in particularly exclusive locations, we work with the Douglas visual merchandising team to create high-quality and artistically inspired concepts for the luxury shop windows and in-store assets.
In addition to the brainstorming process and the creation phase, d-SIRE is also responsible for the individual production of all required assets: from posters and stretch graphics, to merchandise displays and value-added communication from industry partners, through to video content.
Douglas PRO Store
Der "Douglas PRO" Store in Hamburg war für seine Kund*innen ein besonderes Highlight, das mit seinem vielfältigen Beauty-Angebot, insbesondere im Skincare-Bereich mit ergänzenden professionellen Services, begeisterte.
d-SIRE hat hier das Visual Merchandising Team konzeptionell und gestalterisch unterstützt und saisonale Fokusthemen ansprechend in Szene gesetzt.
SCAN & GO
Douglas offers the SCAN & GO service in selected stores. Contactless payment with a smartphone works without queuing at the checkout. d-SIRE developed the look of SCAN & GO as well as the communication and provided the assets for the POS.
New store opening concepts
For the launch of the Düsseldorf branches "House of Beauty" on Königsallee and the branch on Joachim-Erwin-Platz tailored to the "Gen Z" target group, d-SIRE was involved in the new opening concepts. In addition to the creation of the look and feel, attention-grabbing window stickers and in-store measures such as event areas, posters, information flyers and give-aways were created.
Global Marketing – International Design Templates
Toolboxes for Douglas international
In addition to the newsletters, teasers and banners that we create and produce for Douglas, we also develop the toolboxes that serve as design templates for the design teams in all Douglas countries across Europe to ensure a consistent brand image.
In close coordination with Douglas Global Marketing, CI-compliant, brand-oriented designs are created month after month, both for current themes and for trendy and exclusive brands such as Kylie Cosmetics, Keys Soulcare and Florence by Mills.
Social media
We create teasers, stories and video content for social channels such as Instagram and TikTok, and also support our client's social media team with design templates and collaboration on the "Social Brand Book".
Douglas Marketing Solutions with First-Party Data
Website Production
As Europe's N°1 beauty retailer, Douglas offers its industry partners a unique platform to present themselves to a beauty and lifestyle-oriented audience. d-SIRE supported the Douglas Marketing Solutions team in the production of its web presence.
Douglas Beauty Booking
In March 2019, "Douglas Beauty Booking" was launched, an online platform for booking appointments in Berlin beauty salons, tested and recommended by Douglas. To support the service, Douglas designed newsletters, teasers and brochures and creatively helped with the online promotion of special on-site events such as the Douglas Beauty Booking Bus. The service, which was well received, was no longer profitable when the salons had to close due to the coronavirus pandemic and was therefore discontinued in mid-2021.
Douglas Beauty Tester: TEST – LOVE – SHARE
As part of the Douglas Beauty Tester Community, customers are exclusively one of the first to try out new products and share their experiences on social media. d-SIRE designed the "Beauty Tester" information brochure included in the product packages as well as flyers, which are also included in the package and give the testers an understanding of the product to be tested. We were also able to support the service with advertising measures in e-mail marketing or on douglas.de.
Cheeky. And free!
Clean Beauty. My Way.
Clean beauty, a megatrend in the beauty world, stands for cruelty-free products that do not contain certain controversial ingredients. The "clean" does not stand for "better than", but for "free from". Clean Beauty provides quick orientation when shopping. All one.two.free! products are also vegan.
With the Clean Beauty category and its innovative product range, the market leader is responding to the ever-growing trend towards a conscious and healthy lifestyle among customers. Super easy, right?
With one. two. free!, Douglas has enriched this market segment with a new own brand. Its independent brand presence expresses the promise of natural beauty with the perfect glow.
Starting with a range for facial care, the range has been successively expanded to include body care and make-up products.
A Guide for the daily Beauty Routine – #gethatglowgirl
The website designed by d-SIRE impresses with a generous, visually strong design in soft pastel shades. Appealing, natural animations reflect the lifestyle of a young target group. The clean beauty concept is consistently supported by icons and corresponding explanations.
The seamless Transition to the Douglas Online Store
The brand presence of one.two.free! offers links from the respective product pages that lead to the Douglas online stores in various countries. In this way, purchase impulses are converted directly into real sales.
The one.two.free! website was created entirely by d-SIRE with Wordpress.
